Richmond is home to many beautiful parks, among them the popular Pocahontas Site Park where you can take a canoe trip on the Swift Creek Lake, visit the park’s Nature Center, swim in the Aquatic recreational center or attend a Pocahontas Premieres special summertime event. If you are a history buff, there are several historic battlefields and forts you can visit in the area, chief among them is Fort Darling. This Civil War-era fort located at Drewry’s Bluff is now a park that features the well preserved fort, walking trails, river views and a Confederate giant cannon.
